About This Recipe
"One of those recipes with lovely presentation that looks like it was 10 times harder to make than it was. Better if you use homemade or top-quality preserves."
Ingredients
- 4 (4 ounce) boneless pork loin chops
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper, divided
- 1 cup cherry preserves
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
Directions
- Heat a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat.
- Coat pan with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle pork with half the salt and pepper.
- Add pork to pan and cook 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
- Remove and keep warm.
- Add preserves, vinegar and remaining salt and pepper to pan.
- Cook 30 seconds, scraping up browned bits from pan.
- Serve sauce over pork.

What, exactly, IS a "Soft Opening"??
In public service business, a "soft opening" is the dress rehearsal for the Grand Opening of a business. In our case, it is a small run-through for the Grand Opening of the Farmer's Market Season. It is an extra day for vendors to set up and test their setup and timing before the big day. Market coordinators can plan location assignments, make adjustments, and get feedback from customers to apply on the big day.
The goal of a soft opening is to utilize a small test set of customers in order to create a buzz and to test your product or process. Having everything operational and being able to test it all while not being pressed down under the pressure of waiting customers can be a huge benefit."

Our soft opening is today, and while not highly advertised or populated by many vendors, we encourage you to stop by and see what is being offered!

Location, location location
While we are currently still operating in the parking lot of Dr. Rellins Dentistry at the corner of Main and Broadway, there is talk about grant funding to actually BUILD a Market Pavilion for us! Exciting ideas are running through our heads!
